Lester Holt
If you are a fan of NBC News, this California star should be a familiar face, the recipient of numerous awards for his work. His media career was shaped back in California State University, where he was a DJ at a country-western station when he wasn’t to know yet that he would go on to become the first black American to anchor a weekday network nightly newscast alone. In 1981, he began as a reporter for WCBS-TV in New York City, by 1986 Holt was offered the news anchoring position at WBBM-TV in Chicago, where he stayed for the next 14 years, while also still reporting extensively from troubled areas world-over. In 2000, Holt joined MSNBC, and by 2003 he was taking on full-time duties at NBC News where he has become increasingly famous for his various roles there, such as hosting presidential debates. He is estimated to have a net worth of around $15m today.
