Time To Spare
Things were about to get exciting. Anders and his crew settled on a primitive but effective method of breaking open the bottles. They would begin chopping them open with an ax! You might think that this was rather barbaric, but there was no other way.
Now that all the bottles had been opened, the next task was to count the piles. Thankfully, the bank was stocked with counting machines. No one was going to spend weeks counting the pennies manually! They carried buckets of pennies to the machines.
Hours Later
This process would still take a long time to complete, however, and it took five hours of carrying and mechanical counting before the last penny was accounted for. Anders was amazed as he watched the machines swallow large piles of the pennies he had painstakingly collected for decades.
Every twenty minutes, the coin bags in the machines had to be swapped out, as their max capacity came to $50 in pennies. This was a herculean effort, and we are glad that Anders had a solid team to depend on.
