Rico was quick to accept Ivelisse’s request, knowing that whatever it was, he would be able to take it back home with him. She had told him that she would try to get his contact details on the other side of the security gates, in order to make a plan to return the package to him. Although they both wanted to do the right thing, they also had an urge to find out exactly what he had thrown away. Curiosity and kindness had gotten the better of the couple.

If the package had been very dangerous or a forbidden substance, it would not have been thrown away in one of the communal bins in the airport. This led the couple to believe that it must be something more sentimental, especially as the men involved had both seemed quite shaken up by the experience.
