Limited Mingling with Guests – No Hook Ups!

If you think you might like the idea of finding some charming guest on the cruise to have a holiday romance with while you are at work, then sadly you should know that hooking up with guests is strictly forbidden, and it is actually one of the quickest ways to get fired from your job on a cruise ship. We have been told that the crew is actually discouraged altogether from interacting too much with guests on a one-to-one basis. This is in order to protect the company of the cruise line from any accusations or dramas that can hurt their reputations.

But Hook-Ups Do Happen

Well this wouldn’t be the first time that something has been forbidden but it still happens, of course it does, but it is mostly avoided by crew members. However, that is not to say that hook up don’t happen at sea and that all crew members are celibate while working at sea for weeks or months on end. Of course, we mean that crew members often get together. Which is pretty easy to understand really, all stranded on a boat together, tons of cheap alcohol on hand, for long periods of time, romantic and exotic locations… Hookups are inevitable, and many ships actually have posters up about STD prevention in the crew quarters.
