Her efforts on behalf of The Ronald McDonald House have gained widespread recognition throughout the course of the 20 years she has been collecting. Hundreds of pop tabs were collected by members of the community and even by people from other countries, who began shipping her all of the tabs they had collected through the postal service.

Because she claims to receive pop tabs in the mail practically every day, Aletha keeps count of how many she has in her possession at all times.
Decades Pass
It wasn’t until Aletha received a large number of tabs and began counting them that she became enthused. By then, my mind had already wandered to the possibility of counting them, just to see how many we might possibly gather.

But she had no idea she’d be collecting them for the next two decades! Immediately after learning how much she was giving to the non-profit, she set a goal of 10 million tabs, which she aims to attain by 2021.
